I'm sure you can float fish for trout at Matlock (Matlock Bath)on the Derwent

You can park in the Gullivers Kingdom Car Park (have to pay), cross the road walk down side of Hotel, cross bridge and fish anywhere to left or right of bridge.

Do bear in mind that brown trout are now out of season in the UK - so it's illegal to intentionally fish for them and illegal to take them home with you.

Stocked rainbows are a different matter, but I think you're probably out of luck on almost all rivers until next season (March)

On the other hand if the 'fluff chuckers' decide to then wade through your carefully laid bed of hemp or groundbait you'll have nothing to complain about will you?
