tfg gear

TFG Gear, in association with IYCF.

I have no qualms regarding the selling of fishing gear, or the sponsoring of gear by celebrities, however, when It comes to TFG, Improve your coarse fishing is little more than a brand catalogue.

Funnily enough this months IYCF has a TFG kit offer on its cover, and inside they rate the best kits worth buying, no prizes which kit got top marks!

Also in IYCF, they are advertising Incisor hooks, and lo and behold, in an article about rigs for winter fishing, you are TOLD that you must use incisor hooks because of the straight eye (not downturned) means that you don’t create a weak spot on the line.

Having enjoyed the magazine for a couple of years now it appears to be turning into a TFG product catalogue, and I challenge anyone to find an article in there which doesn’t mention just hooks, but also gives the brand name, make, product code, rrp and a list of distributors.

It seems to me that IYCF has rammed TFG gear down my throat at the expense of a half decent mag, for this reason alone I wont buy TFG.

Sorry, touched a nerve.

A bird in the bush is worth two in the hand

In my copy of iycf mag the BADGER two rod carp kit wins the kit test, and the TFG kit comes in @ 2nd.

TFG gear has been getting a couple of right ups in one or two mags though, and it does get good reviews not just in Angling times and IPYC.Im debating weather to get a tfg barbel rod or a Greys Barble rod hmmmm, decesions.

Take a look here:

http://www.tacklebargain.com/

There's a TFG logo on the front page.

Most rods seem to have offers on (free braid, reel, etc.).

Worth a look.

Tight lines,
