Not sleeping, more taking some time to fish. If there are some problems that can't be resolved between the RSSG and SAA there is nothing to stop the RSSG doing its own thing. Yes I know this fly's in the face of the NAA structure but if this is not working or needs tweaking there is nothing to stop any other or new group from flying its flag and doing what it thinks is right.

Blimey. What are they like?

Such a good idea. A group of people focused on doing a good job to help the environment, do a lot of good for the public in general (well, those that know what a river is), and bring rivers back to good form.

Do it properly. Raise some money, get people involved. Keep everybody informed. Good show.

And what happens? Boys in playgrounds that's what. Teddy's out of prams etc. etc.

I don't know who was in the wrong here. I'm sure if I dare to ask I'll get twelve different answers. I just hope those in the wrong realise what they have done, and are very sorry. The RSSG and the SAA, NFA etc. etc. are ALL a good idea if at the end of the day they have a POSITIVE effect on whatever it is they are trying to support, be it rivers, lakes, youngsters, whatever.

Oh what the hell... anybody caught anything good recently?

Yep, its been an excellent week. Bit surprisingly really because the local river is in flood. And more surprising is that its been a shallow water bait over deeper water that has been catching! The lucky bait being a new Fox floating Stalker jerk bait in hideous Firetiger pattern that I was trying out/playing with, prior to changing to a weighted mega grub that I did expect to catch on in such conditions.

Back to politics, you have summed the whole sorry mess up a treat!

I haven't been fishing for months. A little man appeared in our lives and I've been spending time with him and his mother. A future fishing buddy I hope!

But what a relief that the UK custom is a picture rather than stuff and wall-mount.

Newt:

You are really behind the times Newt! They are much better spit roasted for 3 hours over an oak fire. Succulent, and perfect when served with roast potatoes, green things, mint sauce and Yorkshire Pudding.

You will also find that they're much cheaper than turkey at Christmas :D

Happy cooking
