With the coppers having anpr it is now very risky not having tax and more importantly insurance with the risk of having you motor seized. Yet incredibly people still drive and think they can get away with it. They can find out in seconds if your are legit.

 

ANPR only works if you have a (computer) readable number plate and if course if you happen to drive by plod with it on. In my area you do get blitz's when they have a few cars out to pick up offenders, but only once or twice a year. Interestingly enough though, there are fixed ANPR camera's on some of the road signs in a neighbouring town and plod sometimes parks up alongside them.

But a non computer readable plate is illegal, so someone with one increases their risk of being pulled over by a non-ANPR car and caught out when their details are checked manually. Stolen or cloned plates are another matter.

I know an english bloke, who lives near aylesbury, who has been driving a car he bought in spain nearly a year ago on a visit.

no road tax worries, no mot, cheeky git.(its spanish registered)

i wonder how many more there are?(hes heavily involved with the church as well!!)

Hope he is insured otherwise i would report him myself, got his name and addy? Not funny or clever if he hasn't.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

what gets me barry, is he is one of those church types who like to push it down other peoples throats.

as far as i know, he insured it in spain.

buy a new car here, it doesnt need to have an m.o.t for 4 years, pay the spanish road tax(depends where registered as to how much, but 40€ maybe) and away you go.......i presume he gets away with radar fines the lot.

its down to your police to sort him out not me.
