I'd have to repaint it green...

When I first saw this reel in a magazine's new tackle section, it struck me as a vry blue Adcock Stanton. £140 isn't bad, certainly it fills a gap between, say the Trudex and the Purist range. However, those Purist are coming down in price...

The other thing I (personally) am not keen on is the reel seat (as Alan Mentions). To me... it looks like plastic. Maybe it's the photo. However, my Adcock has a plastic reel seat, and it functions just fine.

Must be nice to be able to review reels... Anybody out there want to send some to Chris and I?????

Don't be put off by the colour the reel works well.

Spindle it's a hard life having to review these reels as you have to go and do the fishing to justify the write up....See how I have to suffer for my art!! :P:D:D

minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which

holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd

On the subject of reel seats. I bought an Arnold Kingpin (a very nice two tone example BTW) which is a nice enough reel to use and easily the freest spinner of the four I have. My only problem with the reel is that the seat width is too wide for modern rods i.e. it will not screw up tightly on my Super Specialist. Not wanting to take a file to it I have to use it with 'old fashioned' rods....a bit of a design fault methinks.

My leeds has the same problem, the reel seat is so big it doesn't fit into the smaller screw-winch type fittings found on a lot of modern match rods - such as the new browning match-carp.

had to use my trudex with it instead ;-)

I had the same problems Mat, my Leeds reels won't fit on my new barbel/tench rod, so I just HAD to go out and buy a Bob James. It was such a shame I had to tell the wife it was the only one that would fit :o
