Hook question

This one almost looks like a circle hook! Would you only use this with a running rig to give the fish time to turn and run with the bait? It seems to have a very narrow gape which would put me off using these with a bolt rig setup?

Yes, your right, it is close to a circle hook.

I use it hair rigged with a semi fixed inline method feeder and short hooklength (3"-4") so it has a bolt / self hooking effect. It works better than any other hook I have used and once hooked the fish tend to stay on.

I just wish they made them in larger sizes, although I caught a 25lb sturgeon on a size 10 no problem ;)

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

Hooks, hooks everywhere but a fish on one. Some really interesting and good advice here especially as its the time to cast a careful eye over tackle boxes just prior to the season opening on the rivers.
