Long term stay

I heard a little snipit to-day on the radio.

A German angler caught an eel and took it home to eat, but his kids wouldn't let him kill it, so he put it in the bath in his house.

Its still there, he caught it in 1969.

Something to play with I suppose.

Does his wife ever bath? :o:D

And that reminds me of that popular ditty concerning a conger & a certain young lady from Ongar!

Sorry folks, someone had to come up with the obvious! Well, maybe they didn't.

Okay, I haven't heard it, but I can almost guess it. <thinks...Ongar...conger...longer?> Can you email me it, please Peter? (Address in profile).

Who knows, maybe thats why the eel is still in there. I bet it has big smile on its face if she ever does bathe with it in the bath. Oh and her aswell. :D

My wife has never forgotten the journey home sitting in a very cramped sidecar (Monza) with a very live 2lb eel as company. She still blush's when I mention it, but won't say why!!!

You're almost there Graham, start of with the classic 'There was a young lady' and then just slip in a few words such as 'bloke' and 'smelt', and a few that rhyme, and all will almost be revealed! But I have a feeling, Graham, that you already knew that :D !

Had this eel been an English eel then perhaps it would have ben called 'Elvin'.

According to the snippet that Chris posted this eel should be responding to its urges and be well on its way to the Sargasso by now.

Yes... thanks for that little gem, Peter... reminds me of that young lady from Bude..

And as for 'Elvin', our eel friend who lives in the bath, I wonder if he sings in there too? Those old 'Elvin' classics, like 'Jailhouse Rock Salmon' and 'You ain't nothing but a Hound Dogfish'?

Time for my tablets.
