Apart from Goldsworth Park,Woking(£5.50 per day) are there any other venues in Surrey of a similar price that stay open during the closed season.

Apparently not ref Basingstoke Canal! I'll make some more inquiries but the local Goldsworth bailiff reckons not.

I emailed the Head Bailiff who replied saying it is closed season on the full length of the Basingstoke canal. So I better get out there quick and bang out some more perch!

As much as it's great to be able to walk the 30 yards to my local lake and pay £5.50 for 1-2 rods it would be nice to go somewhere else. Having just lost my job I have the time but not the money so £8.50 for one rod and £11 for two at some where like Willinghurst is a bit beyond me after adding gas money. As you say Peter, at the mercy of expensive commercials!

why not join Farnham AS ,lots of waters open ,its £58 a year + joining fee (£20) so its cheap in the long term ,but wait till april

a pensioner joined a fortnight ago (with just 6 weeks left on the permit ) it was cheaper than paying day ticket fees in the same period :D

Yep, good fishing there is too, plenty of tench around 5 or 6lbs, carp to 20+, good roach and eels,
