Politicians will listen and they will act. They will act because this campaign has become very embarrassing for them. They will stop discards. Simple if you cannot go fishing and targeting your spices without having a significant decrease in catching and discarding fish that you are not allowed to catch, then you won’t go fishing. If you go fishing and try and grade your fish by only keeping the best quality fish that you catch i.e. best cod and dump your small stuff. Then we will shut the area where you where catching the smaller fish and take away your licences, your days at sea, and your quota will be distributed among any boats who can prove that they don’t have discards i.e. cctv etc like a lot of boats are now carrying. End result the final nail in the coffin for the commercial fisherman. And a night hood for Hugh.
