At last some good frosts here in the South which means to me an increase in my use of Cheese so off I went to Tesco the other day to buy some extra cheese I usually use a couple of chunks a week but wanted to double my use some for bait and some for my sandwiches and was surprised to see where I normally buy two chunks of cheese for £3.00p they now cost me £3.76p. This puzzled me as I had just heard that inflation was around 5%. So I started looking at company profits and thought well the owners, the directors, the senior managers and shareholders all seem to be doing well.

 

I took the thought further and considered what any of the people of other countries especially European ones might do. The French in particular would not put up with this sort of carry on, nor for that matter would any other country, so why are we.

 

Then I realised what a load of wishy washy spineless moaning wimps we are becoming in this country we have been emasculated and castrated, conned and tricked into just following blindly like sheep.

 

So this Toad is calling for a boycott on Tesco’s supermarkets for a month. And that may just be the start Government might not want to listen to the people who elected it but I notice it listens avidly to what big business says.

 

All businesses ask for your card be it debit or credit card when you come to pay so lets also wake the banks up and just use cash for a month or perhaps even longer.

 

So be you Labour, Liberal, Conservative, left wing, right wing or green let us unite in this one area and take power from those who would enslave us and dominate us.

 

No this is not the beginning of a vote for Toady campaign (that can come later…hehehe) its just one angler totally fed up with being treated like cr*p and being thought of as gutless and stupid. So have you got the guts and or balls for it?

Lol you need to rename this thread to 'politics and anger and cheese' as the current title is misleading. :D

 

It wouldnt matter what you say on here sadly Rod. A couple of anglers from a website arent going to have any impact whatsoever on the sales figures of a few tecos stores dotted around the country. Maybe you need to start a petition instead saying that the people of this country are **** off with being treated like idiots and are sick of supporting lazy people and immigrants. Might get some reaction from them upstairs then.

I have just successfully cold smoked cheddar (not from Tesco) in my smoker - it's lovely, the bloody fish aren't having it! :D

 

There is a bag of mixed bits of cheese in the freezer, cheese that didn't get eaten last Christmas. That is going to be made into cheese paste for chub.

Is it only Tesco's that have put up prices and cut the size of products? :unsure:

 

Watatoad, you need to stop thinking small with Tesco and try to bring down all supermarkets, nay all shops and the capitalist system.

 

Bring back the barter system, go fishing fill your basket with fish and swap it for some cheese from the lady down the lane who makes her own cheese from milk produced by her one cow. Still unsure is that still a capitalist system? Say she has more then one cow is it then a business.

I do most of my shopping at ASDA... Lidl is great for cheese though!

Damn, better produce our own then.

We are doing about Tesco at college in business; last year a staggering £1 of every £7 spent on the high street went directly into Tesco's tills.

 

Frightening really

As famous fisherman John Gierach once said "I used to like fishing because I thought it had some larger significance. Now I like fishing because it's the one thing I can think of that probably doesn't."
