I tried to upgrade to AVG 8, but it didn't work. Looks like I may be better advised to hang on before trying again.

I've upgraded to AVG 8. I've turned various features off, which I didn't have to do with previous versions. I've disabled the run time scanning ("resident shield") because it was making Visual Studio unusably slow. I've disable link scanner because it was slowing down internet access unacceptably, and yesterday I disabled the email scanner because it was damaging important XML documents that I receive by email; inserting a <pre>arsed about with by AVG</pre> node at the end of the document, which of course made it invalid XML. Not really impressed with it, to be honest, I think they have bloated it too much from a small, simple program with a small footprint. If I wanted bloatware, I'd have bought Norton.

steve try and find and download /install Destroy it 2000

run the prog add the AVG files and sherd them then reinstal AVG 7

this will sort you out.

 

or download the cleanup utility tool from Microsoft try to uninstall AVG 8 .

I've upgraded to eight. Set it up so it installs new programmes and runs a scan during the early hours. I don't have any problems with it, least i don't think so.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.


New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

I upgraded and since doing so haven't had the problems with updating AVG as with the previous version. Very happy indeed with it and no problems noticed.

Thanks Peter. I'll probably just live with it until it's time to rebuild this machine, and then try something different. It's behaving now that I've turned off the stuff that was causing problems, and it was mostly stuff aimed at protecting naive users.

Was a bit tricky getting past the pay version, 4 or 5 pop-up pages trying to

get you pay for the full version.

 

Anyways all ok, however, how can i get rid of the AVG/ Yahoo tool bar

(no i did not tick select Yahoo box in the process)

Which browser are you using ?

if its ie7 then click tools /toolbars , then remove tick next to yahoo toolbar ,close browser then open it again the yahoo browser should be gone.. good luck.

n4ally! GOOD LUCK! I had this with Crap Cleaner and it took me quite while as unlike Norton there is not such a big call to remove this! BUT I did it by right clicking on a toolbar and unchecking the yahoo one. I then used cc to remove the toolbar from programmes. I THEN did a search and removed ALL yahoo and then I searched in programme files and removed all files in the yahoo files one by one and then deleted the folder itself!!

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))
