One for the Southern Chaps

In august I have the job of sorting the family holiday and this year Madam wants me to take the faithful Camper down South.

I would appreciate any decent suggestions as to where we can find somewhere with a goodly mixed bag of fishing available along the south coast area

IMO, no contest - Bournemouth / Christchurch.

 

There are some very nice campsites down there (one or 2 with river frontage :cool: ) Stour and Avon right on your doorstep, beaches, New Forest, tons of stuff for the family to do. And amazing fishing.

'Sandy Balls' (no giggling at the back!) at Fordingbridge has about 1 mile of the Avon.

'Lonis' tackle of New Milton and Christchurch have most stuff & tickets as well as 'Davis' in Christchurch and 'Avon' & 'Ringwood' tackle shops in Ringwood. also see http://www.christchurchac.org.uk

I've stayed here a couple of times, my family like the site, and they have thier own bit of the avon, about 1/2 a mile but fairly shallow and weedy. It's also about 20 mins drive from the royalty.

Yep, I would have to agree with that. The Dorset Stour for one.
