Small Marine Aquarium

I fancy having a try at a mini sized marine aquarium of around 10 gallons. Has anybody else tried this? I know it will be very restrictive, and need frequent water changes but could look good. What I would really like would be 2 small percula clowns and an anemone, but wonder if the waste from the anemone would send the nitrogen cycle into overdrive. Any thoughts? TIA

ten gallons is VERY small any problems would be amplified by the smallness and being small keeping it at a constant temperature would be difficult ,maybe a coldwater marine would be the answer using native species but make sure you get hold of a watercooler (i got mine from the pub for a favour) as warm water is the death of anything not residing in rockpools ,do not include crabs they are very entertaining but favour fresh fish rather than from a fishmonger they thin out the residents at night as they sleep

Ten gallons is way to small to try a tropical marine set up.

I think you will find reading books on the subject they may reccomend 50 gallons minimum.

Go as Chesters suggested but in my mind it is still on the small side of things.

The smallest native marine tank I had was 600x600x350 wide.

Hopes this helps you in your decision making.

Hiya,

If you do some searching you will find a few sites covering Micro reef Aquariums.. I cant find the link for it just now but I'll keep looking.

from what I remember it was a set up just like you are looking for.
