Hi Elton ..

All trout breeding farms I have seen use fast running water, but some also use relatively small pools. I don't see any reason why you cannot breed trout in a pond, but I would imagine that it would have to be very well aereated.

As to breeding procedures .. I will leave that advice to greater knowledge than mine, which I have no doubt will appear on this forum ....

The Older I get .. The better I was.

Unfortunately not,

Trout require cool running water with a clean gravel bed on which to lay their eggs, very difficult conditions to re-create within the garden pond.

Trout farms do not breed Trout using natural methods. What they do is strip the eggs & milt artificially & hatch them out in tanks with a circulating flow.

Peter.

As Peter says, it's unlikely. With a lightly stocked koi setup, very strong flow and some kind of gravel stream section you might be able to provide the habitat and the water quality, but I think you'd have problems with the water temperature.
