Old Rods

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I did try this a few months back, but to no avail... I have a few old rods which have been passed on to me. Unfortunately, I won't use them - but I don't know enough about them to be able to try and sell them. Any information on the following rods would be very much appreciated.

- Auger 'Divvia Match' - 12ft, 3 piece - Mint Condition

- Lee of Redditch and Pershore 'The Newlee' - 10 1/2 ft, 3 piece - Okay Condition

- Allcocks 'Popular' - 9ft, 2 piece - Excellent Condition

- D.M OZOLS '#819' - 9 1/2 ft, 2 piece - Excellent Condition

- D M O (No name) - 9ft, 2 piece - Excellent Condition

- Un-named rod - almost identical to the Allcocks Popular - 7ft, 2 piece - Excellent Condition

Im looking to find out the age, materials used, value and where it was made - but any general info you may have will be appreciated.

Offers can be discussed if anyone is interested...

Thanks,

Dale.

If you have photos, it can't hurt to post them so people can have a look. 800x600 or smaller is best.

the allcocks is probably the best one if its built cane ,"round rods" even hardy's are hard to shift ,fibreglass even harder.

never come across an auger collector although i have a couple up in the loft they came with better rods as a package ,im not even sure they were considered good when new a bit like vortex ,lots about but nothing really special when new or now just budget rods

going by your pictures the allcocks is still the best and the fly rod pretty unsaleable today

pictures? i spotted your enquiry on a carp forum

still the allcocks but its terrible finish may not make it worth much ,more chance if the sections are all the same lenght which you cant see.

search on ebay that will give you the general worth so long as you compare like for like ,yours has been heavily varnished so would only be for restoration or cheap enough to use without worrying your going to bugger up your investment

theres one here

Thanks. I have been keeping an eye on eBay but there doesn't seem to be any consistency for the Allcocks rods, some not fetching any bids at £5, yet some I have seen hit £45. I will be posting them all on eBay at the end of the week. Fingers crossed...
