Trebles were pretty much the norm for German carp anglers until into the 90's! Ive used several of Jerome's videos as promotion for my hook sharpeners.....a total of 9 different ones......AND still a lot of UK carpers wont having it saying that he needs to use this rig and that rig or this Korda (etc etc etc) hook! No need to sharpen hooks as the ones they use are razor sharp...........WHY? even had people telling me my video is "rigged"! Mind you at least the 500 + who have now brought one are starting to get the message and spread the word!

I have noticed an improvement since buying a hook sharpener off Budgie, it is always in my tackle box. I don't use a trendy 'carp' hook for my carp fishing, but I do use a hand sharpened one that is examined after every cast and fish. A great deal of carpers are under the spell of advertisers and struggle to have any faith in something that Nash / Korda / Gardner etc don't tell them to use or do.
