Downloading Music?

Julian

Recommended Posts

Having just joined the ranks of Broadband I’ve been having a play downloading music. I know that if you download MP3’s onto disc they won’t play on a normal stereo system, so do you have to format them somehow, or download in a format other than MP3?

Cheers…

they need saving as either .cda or .wav to play on my cd player. most of the burning programs will do this. i still download them as .mp3 as this is far quicker though, just save them when they're downloaded

if you have a creative soundcard their basic "player"will do it or most software written for burners will convert it under the audio cd tab

The Nero program will automatically convert your mp3 files to play on a cd player when it burns them onto a disk.

euan pink:

i think even media player will convert .

i find it easier than nero for the job.

In NERO you just add the files you want to burn then click on the burn CD button, the process is done automatically whilst burning it to cd (does from V5.5 up anyway)

Also be warned, if you update windows media player to version 9 you will be unable to use nero because of the roxio files in WMP9, it won`t work even after removing WMP9 either.

Hi all,

Thanks for the info. I have Nero at the moment and tried doing some the other night but it did not convert them automatically – will have to have a look at the settings; also have media player so should be able to do it one way or another!

Howard - Been looking at *loads* of sites as I’m well into my music (used to be a DJ in a past life). A very interesting one I’ve been looking at is: http://www.soundclick.com it has loads of really good signed and unsigned bands, and the categories are really good.

Just one more thing - can you burn onto any type of CD or does it have to be a music one?

Cheers…
