Shootin & Fishin

Trout Tempter

Recommended Posts

:D:D How many members are interested in all aspects of nature as I am and have Shooting and fishing as pass times ?. Some people I talk to find it difficult to understand how I can Shoot pidgeons over decoys and thoroughly enjoy fooling them in the first place, Killing cleanly and then preparing some delicious healthy meals from the results and yet not dream of eating what I catch while coarse fishing. Am I alone in feeling that the more I interact with nature and the out doors the better I feel.

DITTO!! Just a point to add, my wife is unable to understand how I can swerve to miss a rabbit or pheasant whilst driving but would shoot one readily.

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

Me too its that hunter gatherer thing, but the main reason for not eating coarse fish is cos they taste like sh*te! :D Perch and pike excepted but they are full of bones and may not be worth the hassle. Now give me a chalk stream full of trout and im in heaven! or a warm sunny day spinning for bass. But it has to be away from everyone else or it doesnt work, beach fishing fom chesil.....superb so long as you can walk away from other anglers but busy Teingmouth complete with pier, great fishing....but no thanks its not the same.

Ps wanna come and shoot the bl**dy magpies waking me up at spome ungodly hour every morning?!

Try a larsen trap for the magpies as my 12g would wake the whole neighbourhood and the boys in blue would soon come a callin (as they should.

I needn't be alone to enjoy fishing / shooting, I can enjoy a session on a pond or river with like minded souls (not too close) :P

You're right about Chesil.

Walk up to a place opposite the Chickerell MOD rifle range and cast into the deep water there.

I've NEVER been there without catching something, but that was years ago. See you all on September 22nd. http://www.march-info.org

You mean you've tried to eat fox? I knew a pub near Chard (Somerset) that sold Badger until a few years ago! Ive eaten alot of stuff in my time, frogs, tripe, octopus, garfish..green bones, flowers, greek weeds, snails, macdonalds, wifes cooking, a whole host of flying things while on my bike but fox never really crossed my mind, how did you.... no never mind!!
