no sheep :( and how many driving licencies do you want forged ? ,if you are on the wrong side if the law then all you need to know is the last owner of the car (clearly written on the log book) ,the police dont know if that person is you ,there are thousands of licencies ,logbooks ,etc that belong to dead people or clones of living people about ,anything that is worth money is forged hence the amount of fake goods on our streets ,the only way forward is that the police carry retinal scanners with them (in the future) connected to a central database ,even then i expect contact lenses with someone elses image will be easily bought ,there is no definate way to identify joe bloggs as joe bloggs on the street, and probably never will be.if we base identification on a single card then the goverment are shooting themselves in the foot it would make it easier to evade capture than to stop it.

I agree with ID cards. allied to the national DNA register could the person who's card it is have their dna fingerprint attached ? to stop counterfeiting. This may sound high tech but is feasable. Anything to reduce Fraud and aid in identifying criminals must be of benefit.
