Ahh yes, there is that WAAAAHAYYYYYYYY factor when you depress the accelerator. Actually, the guy in the showroom did the dirty on me - he mentioned that the STi version of the 5 door Impreza will be out shortly.

David,

I'm looking for an exhaust for my Evo. I wanted a performance one anyway, but the recent service revealed that I need it, rather than want it :(

It was looking reasonably expensive....and then Julian, my so-called 'mate', pointed me to the Hayward and Scott website !

Everything I own (that isn't car related) is now up for sale :D

Chesters,

There are only a handful of bikes that will touch my car for acceleration :P

Anyway, my dog would fall off the back (same reason David's got a car, I'm sure!) :D

I've got to say that bikes frighten me, or to be more precise the thought of me on a bike frightens me. I just know I'd kill myself by doing too much too soon. I sometimes think it would be nice for commuting but then I think of our weather and decide that perhaps it isn't such a good idea.

I think that the thing that would bother me most is other road users. You get it with the car - pull out to overtake and the car in front doesn't anticipate your acceleration and does the same. At least they stand a chance of seeing you in a car and, if the worst comes to the worst, you've got some metal around you.

Must be scary on a bike.

I always pull over to let fast bikes past. On single lanes, I slow down and indicate left if I know that it is safe for them to pass. Must be a result of having a Dad who's always been into fast bikes. Bikers always say thank you when they pass, too.

My wife saw a biker killed a few months back. Well, actually, he'd just overtaken her on the M25 and then all hell broke loose in front and she got out of the car to help and saw him there, dead. He wasn't driving fast or recklessly and she can only assume that, in the rain, somebody didn't see him and pulled out :(
