Never thirsty, ever drinking,

All in mail never clinking.

Chris Plumb:

As for the compiler being a bit sad - I've spent the best part of a rainy sunday on this so who is the sadder?

Chris

LOL! Touché!

44. More wooden-legged 'fiddlers': the character 'Rufus T. Merryweather' in the film 'Little Big Man'... Long John Silver... and what was the name of the main character in 'Fiddler on the roof'? And what about the prefix 'Peg'? But does 'fiddler' refer to a crab?

Does the 'wooden' bit refer to a prefix like Oak... or Ash...? Elm...? etc etc...

Well Eddie - I think you're right with Southampton for 78. Yes the ship did sail from there but I don't think that's the reason. I've discovered that one of the pieces of music in the film was also called Southampton. (Also features on the Soundtrack CD). So Southampton can be said to have been IN Titanic.

Addicted to this? What? ME!!!

Well done!

44 THE WOODEN LEGGED FIDDLER REVEALED A CITY (10)

.

Alfred Noyes poet and novelist wrote "Song Of The Wooden Legged Fiddler"

.

Can't find it and would assume its set in the required city. He was born in Wolverhampton(13) and was buried in Freshwater(10) IOW.

Hmm...

How about this for 45.

Terminalization is a Genetics term, coined along with Diakinesis, by a bloke called Hacker (umlaut over the a)

Jim Hacker, of Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister, was the honourable member for Birmingham East...

Birmingham has 10 letters... is it a "go-er" ?

Cheers,

Adz.

>86 LIES AND DREAMS FOLLOWED THESE DOGS(8)

"Lies and dreams" - lyrics from Sorrow by Pink Floyd,

"Dogs of war" is a track on the same album "A Momentary Lapse of Reason"

The song which follows "Dogs of War" is "One Slip" but I can't see an obvious Town or City name in any of the above... might kick start something for someone else though ?

Cheers,

Adz.

Ah... "Sorrow" also featured on "A Delicate Sound of Thunder", as did "Dogs of War" - the track which follows "Dogs" is "On the turning away"

No towns in there either, at least not that I can see
