have you been watching the series about pedeophiles ? absolutly shocking ,the sentencies were appalling 3 years and 6 years :mad: these monsters have been abusing kids all their lives, sentencing their prey to a lifetime of agony .i think the so called judges encourage these fiends by not sentencing them to life ,notice that several beasts had envolvement with children in their work it bids some questions.

1) is a ten year checkable record worth anything? after all these animals had nothing to find in their past

2)should all people that work with children (male and female) be polygraphed before allowing them to work with children .

3)should there be a minimum of life for EVERY offence run one after the other.

even i felt sorry for the police after all their effort the outcome was pathetic.

not enough prisons for these sicko`s ? easy build more ,for everyone caught a 1000 more abuse

Chesters, I largely agree with you, although I don't think polygraphs will ever be practical (I don't think we even use them in this country).

Problem is where do you draw the line? I used to coach kids fishing - a 30+ single man who'd never been married and lived alone. I think nowadays I'd be treated with suspicion which appalls me. Now I'm married of course the suspicion would be much lower, but I'd still need to have a background check if I wanted to go and coach kids somewhere like Angling Projects. And someone has to pay for it.

We already have schools where out-of-hours activities like sport, drama etc are effectively banned, and all this suspicion and having to get recognised qualifications and be positively vetted is just driving out the type of people who used to volunteer. Child abuse is of course a terrible thing, but I'm not convinced that it's any worse now than it ever was. The fact is however that it's now more visible due to papers and TV being prepared to deal with it as opposed to it being swept under the carpet as it always used to be. Personally I'm far more worried about the generation of almost feral kids who are growing up with parents who don't give a toss about anything other than themselves - that's almost as bad an abuse but nobody cares about that! What future for a country churning out 100's of thousands of kids with no moral codes or ethics other than instant gratification no matter what price to others?

trouble is if thev`e never been caught (and these people are VERY clever )then you will pass the test ,if the search is ALL we base peoples morality and sexual quirks on then unless they have been caught then all of them can work with kids ,some are married (look at that murdering bloke who topped himself) some are unmarried ,polygraphs used correctly could with the right questions could weed out most of them ,just because they are respected in the community (look at catholic priests where its encouraged by not stamping it out) these people go out of their way to get access to kids (there is one at my youngests old school he used to help with them swimming,everyone knows but nothing is done ,i spoke to the local copper but unfortunatly needs hard evidence (accidental hands going into swim suits doesnt count :mad: ))

i aggree with the veiw on unruly kids, maybe secure schools with a lot more punishment routines could be set up ,in the animal world pain decides whose the boss ,these kids are animals ,too old for school then bring back national service for them :mad:

A polygraph test is very crude, and not effective for some people. I t takes measurements of pulse, sweat, and breathing rates and is not reliable as you can be taught how to not be detected as a liar.
