MP3 Problems

For some reason a section of my MP3's have stopped working.

I'm using the latest version of winamp and most are O.K its about 50 tracks by the same artist just don't work.

I get the message 'mpeg header not found'

I know for sure that these tracks definately used to work alright.

Any ideas?

i had a similar problem with files ,i copied them to another disk because i was having a problem with my machine ,on formatting the disk i copied everything back ,quite a few files were "corrupted" (incomplete zip file reports etc)and others not opening EVENTUALLY i found that a memory chip had gone bad (it was revealed when i disabled "fast boot" in the bios) luckily i had a further backup on another machine ,so lost nothing ,windows never noticed the glitch for some reason ,have you copied the files to anywhere else recently?

Sorry Chesters, I missed your last post on this.

I've just found the disc with the MP3 files on and tried copying them back to my hard drive but they still don't work.

With Winamp I get the message 'No MPEG Header found'

Now I know for certain that these files definately used to be O.K - the disc appears to be alright with no scratches or anything - any other ideas?

Thanks for that link Paul.

I've browsed through the forums but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.I just can't understand how they can be O.K one minute but won't work at all the next. :(

Its quite a helpful website anyway, cheers.
