I support science 100 X 100. Climate change (as found in this report thus far) is "POLITICS" not science. Thus far all I can see is the risk of "science" surcoming to the triple risk of conformity, cronyism and plagiarism, which together can smother innovation. This appears to be a "clasic" attempt where researchers fall in line with a particular point of view, especially in the more politically charged branch of climatology. Those who oppose the prevailing orthodoxy as this report risk being branded 'flat earthers' and cast into a wilderness where funding and publications are hard to obtain.

 

Nicolaus Copernicus (1473–1543) was a mathematician and astronomer who proposed that the sun was stationary in the center of the universe and the earth revolved around it. Have you ever read the political interpertation of the "data" by his peers that sent him to jail?

 

Worse, the report is (intentionally(?)) written so it can be easily manipulated. For example, today's comentary in the press (I've read several) sensationalize, - - - "likely 66–100%" has become 100% in the news.

George Monbiot prefers 'climate breakdown' !

 

They changed 'warming' to 'change' because some places might actually get colder as ocean and atmospheric currents change as a result of some places getting hotter, and the consequences are likely to be more intense storms, droughts and and rainfall events, rather than a gentle warming by a few degrees that some were starting to look forward to.
