Can somebody please help me? I am looking to buy an LCD screen for my computer. What is the diference between CRT and TFT and what price will I have to pay?

be carefull if your a dedicated gamer tft unless paying top whack are not ideal .its the tft version of refresh times ,on a crt scanrates both decide along the terms of frames per second .as with crt this is the best way of seeing the game as it should (especially online gaming) if the tft has a slow refresh time frames are lost especially with modern ultrafast graphics cards

CRT is cathode ray tube, a telly to you and me, TFT is the new thin film display, not a plasma, but thin and flat still. some cheap ones around at the mo, but if you're playing games or watching dvds you need a good one to make it worth while

Thanks guys, I went out today and bought a Philips 170C at a reasonable price. Checked the gaming side of it - O.K., the clarity of the screen makes me say "why didn't I buy one of these long ago?".
