Somewhere in here is a programme,

(not invited !! )yupsearch.php

If an internet connection is intermittent ( as mine is terrible at the moment, Thanks so much, Wanadoo! this search dives in and adds itself in part of the screen, or completely diverts to seraching for sometimes related articles to the page I have selected, or very often for Viagra, etc. AVG, Adaware, and Spybot have not found it .

Help me please, as I am getting so cheesed off by having my browsing taken over by this noxious intruder. :(

Have you got a firewall? you may be able to deny it access to the net until you can get rid of it. Zonealarm is free .... www.zonelabs.com I think. Incidentially a mate of mine has just signed up with wanadoo and is fed up with it dropping out all the time, esp as a re connection incurrs a min 5p charge. I find BT yahoo pretty good.

This is not a program (i.e. an executable program). PHP is like a HTML page that can only run on a web server that has PHP installed.

If you can explain more about where this file is & exactly how it is interfering I'm sure I can help you get rid ...

Have you checked your "Home Page" in Tools/Internet Options ? The most common way for this sort of thing is simply to add their page as your home page ...

Yes I run zone alarm, am looking into the possibility of broadband.

FTH, this thing runs searches completely unbidden, especially if the connection is intermittent. Yesterday it even appeared to have got into a secure site ( it hadn't, but it said it had) Instead of connecting to the page you have requested, after a period of no activity from the server, it redirects to a page of it's own choosing, showing the options for further searches. I hate it!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS If I knew where it was, I'd try to delete it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nothing wrong with the machine just a redirection ,usually searching for something you see a site with just what you want and hey presto a redirection to a search page which cleverly also has what your searching for :D

the worst are these waste of skin types who list what software they have  why?

the ridirection ones i believe make money if you go via them ,in forbidding there cookies etc i make sure i dont give them more
