Need a small/medium shoulder/haversack type bag?

If you want a very nice small/medium haversack/shoulder type bag for fishing/walking etc I found these on ebay last week (there are many suppliers with various grade ones at various prices)

I have bought one to store my jetboil stove, bottle of water and brew kit in.

Very impressed with it, well made for the military and has enough storage/pockets for my needs.

I will be adding a pad to the strap at some point.

A jetboil flash fits nicely indeed in one of the internal holders and a 1ltr bottle in the other holder, these could also be used to hold a canister or two of gas or a thermal mug (I have tried 100g jetboil canisters and a Berhaus mug - I think these internal bits are designed to hold the gas mask filters.

For angling the holders can be pushed back and a couple of 2pint bait boxes can be held with ease along with a small float tube etc.

My pair of Hawke frontier ED binos also fit it this bag nicely.

The top cover has a couple of elastic ribs that can hold a jetboil or another bottle of water.

Might even be able to put a light weight waterproof in that bit.

The bag can be worn on a belt or webbing having attachments to fit these or be used with the attached strap.

There is a small external pocket holding some thick string and I think this is designed to go round your waist and ties on to a fixing point to stop bag banging about.

I have fitted a small single cell LED bike light to the string - handy when its getting dark!

This small pocket could also hold an emergancy whistle.

There is another external pocket big enough for brew kit or angling sundries and another internal pocket big enough for bits and bobs that also has some mini pockets that will hold a small spoon, tin opener or knife etc.

A very nice bag for a tenner or less that will do the same as a 60 quid 5.11 or Maxpedition bag.

I am sure there will be plenty of other uses for these.

I've used these for mobile lure fishing for the last 20 years and have yet to find anything that comes close at a sensible price.

The camo ones shown are the new type and are very durable.

They take a couple of standard lure boxes plus bits and have an internal pocket that is ideal for a trace wallet.

As they are taller than they are wide, they sit nicely against your body without tipping or twisting.

I picked mine up from an army surplus suplier and I don't think I've ever paid more than £7.00.

Sometimes you will need to strip out some foam and they do benefit from taping the seams to minimise hooks snagging but I highly recomend them
