Launching/landing

Im a newbie so this has probably been talked about before! can someone point me in the right direction? what do you guys do with rods when launching/landing in surf. on those occasions when you return to beach to find the surfs kicked up more than when you left. im guessing its not a great idea to land with rods in rod rest? (if being wiped out is a possibility!)

 

any clues?

pack em up and tie em down use one of the paddle holders to lay em flush with the kayak that should minimise risk of damage

last time i was out i lost the top section of my rod lol, almost lost two whole rods but i reallised in time and dived in lol.

 

make sure you tie them tight lol.

im from guernsey Fodder, the finer island....ha ha! i doint have any paddle clips at the moment. well i do but i havent got up the courage to drill into my yak to put them on! guess im gonna have to!
