probably somewhere easy & sheltered like charmouth to start with. Mrs Becky is on at me to give it a go in the river first but i'm happy to put straight out to sea in calm conditions. probably easier to beach the yak than it is to get up a river bank anyway.

Good luck with the paddling Zigg.

Charmouth, shelterd ,with South Easterlys at the moment.Mmmmm... be careful.

I see you are in crewkerne .Exmouth's shelly beach is always worth a go, easy access ,sheltered calm and shallow.[just in case].

took one look at the sea state yesterday & then decided on axmouth estuary.

finally got Eric the yak in the water :)

some interesting currents there as the tide goes out, was suddenly finding myself facing the wrong way.

does a 6 foot 6 paddle sound too short or was it just me paddling the wrong way with the current?

had a great time, will practice more in the shelter of the estuary soon as pos. only got my feet wet, not bad for a maiden voyage.

Well done, maybe next time give us local boys a call, and we can go out together, but the weather is rubbish at the moment :(

Great to know that yet another is on the water, terry

If only I had all the money for all the toys I want,;-(

cheers terry, will give you a shout when my paddling muscles are a bit bigger :D And a big thanx to yakketty yak, if it wasnt for his enthusiasm for yakking, even before the yakkers had there own forum, i would still be a landlubber.

have got my vhf radio finally, is it normally just static on the marine channels or have i got a duff one ?
