hi ya all , joined up on a mobile scheme about a year ago, u know the one that gives you supposedly free ring tones? anyway after an endless wait did not recieve any ? instead i get 2 text messages telling me the latest ring tones to have this month both text messages costing me 2 quid each!!!! and yet no free ring tones !!!! also they have a cancel a getout claus which that too doesnt seem to work and i have to send that message to them costing me yet again 2 quid ago!!!! so everytime i top up my mobile it takes 4quid straight away!!!! :angry::angry: anyone know of a solutuion ? without buying a whole new phone?

I think the only thing you can do is to reply STOP to each text message you receive.

If your on pay and go, just go out and get yourself a new sim . . the let all your mates know the new number.

 

Never . . sign up for Text messages, screen savers, ring tones. Why do you think they can afford the massive adverts in all the mags. Hope you have learned a valuable lesson.

It sounds like they are committing fairly blatant fraud. Are there any 'consumer protection' agencies where you could report them?

this state of affairs has been and will continue to be all over the media it basically comes down to the fact that you can do naff all about it. just cut your losses buy a new sim card and never sign up to free ring tones again as proving you agreed to the contract or even cancelling it is an imposible task

 

sorry newt but there is a difference tween US and UK law regards this
