Hi Andrew the very best of luck to you , at least you have thought it through and taken advice. Let us know how you go.

I would really like to know some places to try as the pier at Cairnryan is the only place I know down near you.

I am going to try the Cree estuary at Creetown sometime soon , Let me know if you fancy it.

Tight lines

Peter

A bad days fishing is better than a good day at the office. Tight lines all.

4/0 or 5/0 hook and a big bait. Pennel rig with a squid/lug combo or squid/mussel combo

Best of luck :)

Actually caught my first cod of the winter season yesterday, I was fishing in FastD's boat.

Ask him where the plug was :lol::lol:

Who needs a plug when you canwedge in a 6oz lead

On my way home last night I noticed that the sea was pounding in over the wall at the Maidens Harbour, near Girvan, Fantastic, Cod fishing on Monday night should be good.

What a change this morning, hard frost, no wind, FLAT SEA... tonight could be tough, I expect we will be plagued by whiting.

Still it beats having to watch the soaps on TV.

see you later Tack4.

You had to bring it up didn't yah ;)

Its called improvisation and when you have launched and find you dont have a plug with you its a case of use what works.

Im now looking for a mold that casts 6oz leads with a 1/2 " bsp threaded section :lol:

Enjoyed the trip out and I guess you enjoyed the match after. Hope to make it to whitby this weekend as there is a rumour going around that one or two are being caught there ;)

Hi Tack4,

Thanks for the company last night, Adam and I enjoyed the session, Better fishing than I expected, some of the Haddock were a reasonable size.

Here's to the next outing, Maybe even get a Cod.

Barry.

cheers Barry was good to be out and finally get into a fish but the walk back up the hill is a killer the air is much thinner at my altitude and i think i sufferd because of it. :D:D
