the smoke can bee seen from a couple of miles away in hindhead (on a hill) were in a valley so see nothing thats about 80 miles (or so the chap said on telly showing the pic) away,all i know of the place is its oop norf

I have just been reading about the huge quantity of water that has been taken from the Grand Union Canal to help in fighting the fire. There was so much taken there was grave concern for the water way. I think that it is likely that a lot of that water would have been replaced from the Tring Group of Reservoirs. If that is so, and if you have a dry winter, they could be very low at the beginning of next season which - in my experience gives you a much better chance of a good bag of fish. I was always very optimistic if Wilstone was low - I know that I would be keeping a very close eye on it over the next few months!
