The Last Eel Catcher - Peter Carter

Stumbled across these clips today, thought they might be of interest? ... the final clip features a SERIOUSLY big eel ... it's toying with the idea of trying to take a trout off the end of a fishing line ... and the trout was subsequently weighed in excess of 6lbs! :D

Now now, that last video was obviously from New Zealand.

They're present in Australia, NZ and a lot of the south Pacific islands and I always fancied fishing for them.

There's photo's somewhere of my grandfather taken in the 1980's with eels over 20lb that were caught on a visit to family in Queensland.

Had sussed that one out :icecream: ... the eel didn't seem too perturbed by the presence of a wading angler, did it?

I always had a fancy for a trip Eeling in New Zealand ever since one of my customers sent me a photo of an eel he used the catfish net I made him for. I've not got the photo on this PC or Expansion drive but I'm sure old timers on here will remember me having posted it before at over 20lb! Never got around to it with one thing and another so sadly the "one that got away"!

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!
