That really depends on what size water you are fishing, the number of fish present and if you are planing on putting alot of bait in over a long period of time.

Can you give more details?

Pellets, corn and hemp mix is fine. At this time of year don't be tempted to put too much in though. I'd opt for items which break down easily or are very small. Also best to avoid fish based pellets and try and use cereal ones (i.e. use the bait company ones rather than trout or halibut). Also consider ordinary groundbait - very underused for carp but can be very good especially in winter.

My pellet mix for use in PVA bags consists of loads of different type and size pellets.

I also put in a few bits of corn if using fake corn as a bait and some hemp.

You can either mix them with a small amout of groundbait or put them with your pellets and leave them for 10 mins. The groundbait/pellets will suck in the moisture and this will give you enough time to get your bag out. Obviously you should drain the hemp as best you can.

Don't leave your hemp/pellet mix for more than a couple of hours or your hemp will dry out and start to float. Just do enough for a pva bag full at a time.
