Hi Nan here. :)

There are obviously a few amoungst us that have a little knowlege of the Porbeagle and how to fish for them.

But for the less experienced, here are a few bits that may help, if your adament on trying for this powerful fish.

Always good to know a little about somthing you intend to do battle with, .....might help to tie off a bouy to the rod, just in case you get pulled or tipped from the kayak.

Nice one Bill :)

"Fascinating" reading,

Your buoyed off rod idea is good in theory and I'm not trying to pick flies with it but it would have to be a fair sized old bouy to support probably 4lbs or more of rod.reel and line and 100lbs of shark, and the danger of it snagging on the yak would make it more dangerous in my opinion, far better to just say goodbye to it and climb back aboard :o Lots to ponder.

Cheers,

Stuart.

Go on Nifty.....a plastic football would do the job , no problem , and if there wernt any Porgies, you could have a kick around on the beach.

Anyway, if it was strong enough to break your grip, it would be well away in seconds, no chance of a tangle
