Mad ways to carry that canoe

Hi there, came across these pic,s and they made me smile, what do you think of the canoe hat ?????. or the boot rack, better on your back when loading but not so good on road holding. terry

Hope thats not darnsarf, with it strapped to the boot . Is that a roller in the distance.

I do that Canoe hat thing !.......I think that lucky camper has the advantage of a Turtle Back, back-pack canoe carrier & balancing ropes ( seriously !, I think that's the rig being used.)

 

Keeps the rain off !....and no, it ain't easy in a side wind. "Good" 3 man canoes can be portaged for quite long distances like that, because they are remarkably light for their size......lighter than S. O. T.'s. Not recommended for carrying sideways.....in woods though !!

As it happens, I can appreciate the hat but I wouldn't be seen dead paddling it.

 

As for the car carrying system............has potential. Atleast its off the ground, which makes it better than my last attempt
