Yep - appears to have been set up from Vietnam! :(

Most of today's spam seems to be originating from a server in China for an organisation registered in Uzbekistan. They are generating email with fake "from" addresses and what look suspiciously like randomly generated return addresses like "gyutd@nicerealmail.info" and "ahk@nicerealmail.info". Just the kind of text string you might generate if you wanted to use it as a surrogate key to a database of harvested email addresses, for example. The little tinkers!

Not as nice as the html email using the numeric ID in <img> tag trick to register which email addresses were live (the source of the image was not a file but a CGI script which then presumably recorded that someone had opened the email with ID xxxx.) I knocked up a little program to call their script URL with lots and lots of numbers. They must have been delighted to see how many of their email addresses were saleable...

I've got around 20 email accounts now, i seem to be addicted to freebie on-line email addresses.

helps when you need to enter an email address on a website you ain't to sure about.

Postmaster is a good one for free email addys cos a lot of filters on sign up systems block hotmail or yahoo.
