the french "bottle" included setting fire to lorry loads of live sheep during the blockades.

i have since classed the french as less than the bacteria that grow under a toilet seat

just how many would? or would they feel it to be a negative rather than a positive thing to do, or dont we? have as much bottle as the french.

 I doubt if any would. The trawlermen do it because if they don't catch fish they don't earn a wage. If you don't catch fish on a charter boat the skipper still takes your money, he can't lose. :D

ok. lets change it a bit,so do we get value for money from the charter boys who cant seem to lose,ie, if you catch jack ***** they still get paid. and as for trawlermen not getting a wage if not catching, whats all this subsidies rubbish? and im sure they are not frightened of claiming job seakers allowance at the local dole office either, [probably both at the same time]

Commercial fishermen are not the target - they are just going to fish to earn a living for as long as the Government let them or as long as there is fish in the sea. If you want to bring the crisis to public attention, the best option is a rally of angling boats in the Thames outside the House of Commons. As most national media and their journalists are based in London they'll cover anything that happens in London but not much gets their attention outside. As the Thames is a LONG way for most non-trailable boats, the best option would be a massive trailer-boat rally with a lot of hooting, flags and buzzing up and down outside the Members bar. There also needs to be a Press Release and a Press Briefing at the same time, so the right message gets across.

at last some one talking sense salar, instead of this letter writing to mp's and moaning about are lot, which i have been guilty of, thats one of many good ways of getting the message out that us anglers are fed up with getting the butt end of the fishing policies and we are not standing for it. i'm up for that' if i can get some one with with a boat and trailer to go with.

Norm - The charter skippers dont win everytime m8. A close freind of mine is a skipper. He says his bookings are way down and are following a downward trend year on year. The few people that do take charter trips these days are very surprised to here that there are still cod in the north sea.

The skippers I know all link over fishing to their fall in bookings.

dont hold youre breath wotsinaname, i was hoping to get a few charter skippers opinions when i posted this but like norm b said, you catch nothing you still pay, so its in there interest if there is fewer fish inshore to catch, because if there was plenty of good fish to catch close in or off the beach there would be no need to pay 60 quid to steam 30 miles or more to do the same.
