A licenced skipper with all the safety gear who knows the water and can put you onto the target species. A smile and a bit crack on helps as well.

He should also be encouraging catch and release . Ok to keep a bag of mackeral though :)

Dead simple aint it !!

A skipper who really tries for his punters, even when its verry hard.

A skipper who is honist when you call to book your trip.

A skipper who knows his onions, what fish where at what state of tide,e,c,t.

A skipper who makes you feel welcom and makes enough tea!

the list could go on and on.

I think I would make a good skipper, Ive crewed for my dad since I could walk, Ive crewed on commercial fishing boats.

I take my own boat out with mates and they catch fish!

Its just the getting qualified that scares me as I find caurses hard.

Someone who is prepared to move if no fish show in the first half of the day. :wallbash:

I am sure we have all had them, take your money get afloat throw the anchor over and sit there until it is time to go home, muttering throughout the day. "You should have been here yesterday/last week the fish were crawling up the line :schmoll::rolleyes:

One thing to remember is that any charter skipper is dealing with the public, and no matter how many of the qualities you posess you you can never please everybody with the best will in the world :)
