I cannot believe this run of "misfortune" that has happened to my daughter. In Chronological order.

She was in Bali when that terrible bombing happened at the Sari nightclub. She had been in the actual club a few nights previous. We were on tenderhooks for a few days until she could make contact so say she was ok.

Then she was living in Sydney when those forest fires were raging around the city :headhurt:

She was on holiday in the States when 9/11 happened, another anxious wait for us until she got in touch :headhurt:

We were staying at her house in Thames Ditton when the London tube bombings took place, yes you guessed it she was travelling into work on the tube at the time. Another anxious wait for us until she could make contact :headhurt:

This takes the biscuit!!! she is on holiday in Egypt very close to where the bombings took place, Sat by the phone again :headhurt:

If you ever see my daughter Amanda at the airport best cancel your holiday :headhurt:

Will update this thread when she hopefully gets in touch

Bloody kids!!!!

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

Have u checked behind her ear for tattooed numbers? <_<

I can see where you are coming from Phil !!!!

Got a text off Amanda in the early hours to say she was ok and had just heard about the incident. She is going to stay on the hotel complex now until the holiday is finished :)

Do you think it may be a family trait as I was in Mamaris in 99 with the wife when we got caught by an earthquake 5.2 on the Reichter Scale. It put cracks up our hotel walls

Was planning to treat the whole family to a holiday in Mexico next year. Thinking now that a holiday in my static caravan on the Mull of Galloway may be a bit safer

Bluddy 'eck Snatcher, you have one lucky (or unlucky) daughter mate. Main thing is, she is OK, so you can now have a drink to celebrate :yeah: I might have one aswell, just so you don't feel you're drinking alone ;):drunk:

Making the most of it
