African? busts and a figure

Hi all

ive had these hanging around the house for years, they where a gift from my nan, who got them from my sisters first husband who`s parents came to the uk in the 50`s, he has now long gone so im finding it hard to find any information on them, ive looked on ebay and google, but cant find anything the same or similar really, they are very dark, and very heavy, they look black with a hint of brown in places, any information would be great, im looking to sell them if anyone is interested(lighter not included ).

i think they might be from africa,dont ask me why but i`ve a hunch

 

nice figures mate they might be made from ebony wood,very heavy.

I've seen loads of them for sale whenever i've been in africa, cost pence to make, and are sold for as much as possible, hmmm, wonder if fox are involved

 

i found one on top of a wardrobe in my room in a lodge in the democratic republic of congo (don't ask what i was doing on top of the wardrobe ) and brought it back despite the warnings of 'Bad Juju' from my colleagues. it now sits on top of my khazi

 

sorry to be the bearer if bad tidings but they're more than likely not worth tuppence. however, take them to someone who knows about such things, I may be wrong, and you might be pleasently surprised

Certainly your answer was good jeepster. I simply amplified on it a bit. Some UK folks aren't aware that ebay.com has lots of targeted discussion boards that ebay.co.uk doesn't have.
