some fishing report this is

Hi all,

one of the clients told me about a trip to the Cape Verde Islands, he has since then sent me a quick report of there catches. I will be seing the pics next week weather being OK.

I will now attempt to copy and past the text of his email.

Hello Alan,

I didn't know yoy don't get paid ... that changes my perspective some.

By the way, it is coincidence fishing on springtide, but why do you ask?

Isn't it a good moment? Then the question is, what is the best time

regarding current and moon by your opinion?

When we come the 23rd we'll take the pictures with us. We also bring our

video ... spectacular.

We had a very good trip. My brother caught a 300 kg blue marlin, and Menno

our friend one of 225 kg. I missed/lossed 5 (!) marlins and a sword-fish (by

trolling at night). I had the shortest straw and didn't have a bit of luck,

but that's fishing.

We also caught tigersharks up to 200 kg and spotted some tigers in 100

metres distance of the boat of aprox. 450 kg .... huge fish.

We also caught 15-25 kg tuna's on 30 lbs rods. GREAT sport; 30 minutes

fights with blisters on our hands. And in the evenings and night we fished

for bottom fish with spinning rods. We caught the whole premier league:

green, blue, orange, purple, red, spotted, striped fish up to 5 kg and we

missed some small sharks of aprox. 20 kg because of missing steel leaders.

The skipper was a German and I can advise him to you. He's crazy ... and one

of the few good living Germans (although I'm half a German ...). His crew is

also perfect. A days boat hiring costs euro 650,-

aand with four guys you have a perfectly sized boat with top gear. He also

knows some good pensions for staying. We deceided to go out for 5 days on a

row, including night fishing. It was quite expensive, but worth the money.

The skate fishing would interest me, but Joris and I have so much wishes on

our list. Next year again to Cape Verde and after that we might go up to

north Norway, for the big cod, but it could also be skate-fishing in

Scotland. I like Scots so that would be O.K. ... if they let us qualify next

saturday and wednesday.

Hope to see you the 23rd, and oh, I live in Huissen, just south of Arnhem

....

I attached a nice picture also... it says "Scotland away ... always

difficult". Enjoy it,

regrads,

Lars

Newt has the pic that was attached.

Chesters & Dave, thanks for your help, you too Sonja

What a trip that must have been :)

I hope this works, this is his original email :P

Hello Alan,

I hope you remember me ... I am Lars, the tall guy fishing up front last

sunday. You advised me to surf to the AnglersNet .... a nice site, by the

way.

I liked the way you crewed on the trip. The other crew guys don't do that

and I think it is not very customer friendly, espacially if you have some

totally strangers concerning sea-fishing on the boat.

The guy being skipper also knows his job. It's been the second time he took

me and my brother out, but he did is utterly best to get us to some fish.

I hope fishing times will change to the good soon. On sunday the 23rd of

november my brother and I will join the Gemini, so hopefully we meet again.

We can discuss the glorious victory the Dutch football team will have made

by then over ... Scotland?

By the way .. I included a picture of my expectations for the next trip with

the Gemini.

This is me and my brother on the Cap Verdian Islands last summer.

Regards,

Lars

so up yours :P:D:D

What a pity us taffs, could only draw with Russia in their back-garden.LOL

I wish the English rugby team all the best for their match with France in a few hours time. Just don`t start whingeing if they get beat. France have been way the most consistant team over the group stages, and will thoroughly deserve to win the final.

So you english supporters better start praying that `Johny` has his kicking boots on.

:P:P:P:P:P:P:P

We don`t use J`s anymore!!
