Interestingly, during the thirty years from the early 70s to the early years of this decade, considerably more people died as a direct result of illegal parking than were killed due to the troubles in Northern Ireland.

Good point Steve, when I worked on the ambulances in London 30 years ago illegal parkers were a pain in the proverbial. can't imagine what it is like now. Most illegal parkers are just plain lazy and selfish, luckily most drivers don't park illegally, otherwise cities would be at a complete standstill :angry:

I know it may seem funny to you guys, but we have a problem in Cheltenham. We only have to traffic wardens, who stay in the centre of town. The drivers here know it and go through stop streets, traffic lights, use their phones while driving, park on double yellows and disabled parking etc. You name it, they do it with impunity as they know there are no wardens here!

Then heres hoping they get caught :)

Anyone who parks in disabled bays should have both his legs broken so he knows what it feels like to have limited mobility and understands why we have disabled bays :angry:

How come my local B+Q has virtually half of the car park designated as either disabled or mother and child when they provide no decent sized spaces for all the tradesmen that visit in large vans.

Have you seen the price of a decent van these days, I dont blame them for using the oversized bays in order to avoid some slob spanking the paintwork when flinging their door open.

Have you seen a disabled person strugge to get parked, then struggle to get into a store, because some non disabled person is parked in a disabled space. :angry::angry:

Perhaps the issue should be taken up with your local B&Q????????????

Making the most of it

So it's OK for van drivers to use disabled bays and make disabled people walk further, just so they don't get their paintwork scratched?

6 years ago I was in a wheelchair for a few months and trust me, I would do more than scratch their paintwork :angry:

If you have a problem with the size of parking bays provided by a particular store then take it up with the store concerned, don't take it out on the disabled.

I would tow every vehicle wrongly parked in a disabled bay and keep it locked up for a week before charging a fortune to release it :)

Paintwork indeed :wallbash::wallbash:
