Shorter Carp Rods

It might help to know what neck of the woods john comes from.........if he is close enough to one of us with our short rods, he could perhapss try one out.

 

As newt says too, these stalking rods might look kinda 'flimsy' because they are smaller, but I can assure you they are far from it and will deal with any fresh water fish you care to catch on it. An example.........I hooked an 8 lb barbel in the tail in the weir at holt fleet last time I was there. No drama for the rod.

Greys GRX spin in 9' and 3 piece up to 100 grammes casting weight, a great little rod with a good casting action and serious leverage power, about £80 though.

I use a shimano 10ft heavy spinning rod for a lot of my carp and pike fishing (Deadbait) and have had good results, it throws a heavy method feeder when required and sits on the pod with a 12 footer for company, it is an alivio and was bought for £30 from the Newark tackle fair.
