Might of been silly enough to turn up without checking handwarmer working the other evening but someone today went all the way to the Thames to try to find Perch and Chub without checking any of the Thames conditions/flow sites he he how did that work out for ya Rusty? Horrible coloured mess perchance

I didn't think the light rain we had yesterday would've made a big difference but it must've come down more heavily elsewhere. The river wasn't fishable so I had to resort to lock cut pickings and the good news is that those bites on the float which I couldn't hit and thought might be signals were actually small perch, only found out when I changed to quiver tip tactics and caught several to 8oz or so. Thankfully that venue is still signal free!

A couple of other anglers were there piking and they did well with half a dozen fish before I left, no biggies but nice pike all the same.

Just goes to show that there's usually something you can do to salvage the day.
