Yakity Yak, please come back

Prowler

Recommended Posts

Hi Simon, Starvin and the fleet,

Anyone seen Bill (yakity yak) I see from the viewing profile that his last post was on the 16th of July, just he's dissapeared off radar and not long after selling his P15.

I just wanted to say hi and see how he was keeping, a bit worrying really as there's been no signs of him.

Any news/sightings would be gladly appreciated.

I suspect he's doing some decorating, last time he was on I mentioned the state of his skirting boards in one of the images he uploaded :D

You may find him on topkayaker.net

Yep still here and checking in almost every day(sad git),

Just don't want to repeat posts-Looking forward to seeing any pics from forthcoming Brixham get together.Fish would be a bonus looking at the sea state

However I do have an interesting tale to tell:: :secret:

I normally try to seriously fish dawn or dusk/dark however last weekend saw me on child minding (quality time with kids  )duty and the only opportunity to fish was mid afternoon.I decided to try for some flounder in a local estuary which fished dismally last year.My baited spoon failed to attract a flounder(which is often decried as a poor fighter-I suspect this is from shore fishermen using beach casting equipment? as one taken on a short spinning rod on a dinghy/kayak will provide a lot of sport) and I attracted a lot of attention from the local mullet! This was on a big spoon with a large hook and the fish in question (which kept on following the lure up to the kayak!) were definetely mullet(possibly thin lips as they appear more susceptible to lures/spoons) I connected only once and lost the fish(and spoon :( ) after an exhilarating brief fight.

After several pints of home brew and serious contemplation,I have come up with a plan.......

Hopefully there will be a part two :)

Cheers Jon.

Nice tale and definitely looking forward to part 2.

I have just purchased some flies for a spot of sport with the Mullet, they may have been designed to catch me and they worked, lets hope they work as well on the water, only time will tell.

Beleve they can be eaten but arent the best tasters. Best to leave them for the sport IMHO.

Just pretend that they are Tarpon fry, you wouldn't eat those would you. :D
