What size are you Ducktape?? I just foind a pair in the lockup tonight!! THINK they are an 11??

Unfortunately I'm between a 13 and a 14. American size 14 always fits the best, which should be a UK 13, but for me it doesn't work like that. Places like www.walktall.co.uk do my size, but not always the type of footwear I'm looking for. It's one of the reasons I had to give up hiking, I just couldn't get the boots anymore.

I can relate to the problem of getting boots big enough mate! Im only a size 12 but due to an old injury my right lower leg is a bit larger than my left!! due to this I find getting normal wellingtons to fit very difficult. Not only have you got the "shaped" "Hunter" style boot that wont fit me full stop but I also find a lot of the standard wellies are to tight as well.

Slightly off topic but during my hunt for a replacement set of wellies I have been amazed at the price of some of them! £50+ for a pair of normal rubber wellingtons! My old pair cost £4 or £5! and they lasted 12 years+ what do these £50 ones do then? stick your bivvy up and put a brew on? I now wish I had driven back to the caravan park in Essex where I acidentaly left them once I realised I had Aghhhhhhhh

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

I haven't had wellies since I was a size 12, some 16 years ago. I now have a pair of Snowbee thigh waders which are 14's, but they are anything but comfortable. I'd love wading trousers, and wading boots, but there's more hope of me catching a 5lb Roach.

Last winter I bought a pair of prologic lightweight realtree boots, after a month passed , and I had to take them back as the plastic on the boots split, the tackle shop gave me another pair . Another month later I took them back again for the same reason , he told me that he had received a few pairs back for the same reason.

I have now bought a pair of shakespeare bank boots , hopefully these will be ok.

Most hiking boots would be ok, its the waterproofing that we all want.

Thanks Colin but even though Im a size 12 I need a 13 for my gammy leg + socks! Plenty of boots up to 12 but not much after that.To get the bigger width around the calf Im seriously thinking about getting some cheap thigh waders and cutting them down to boot length.Anyone sugest some cheapies in 13?

My choice is neoprene boots. For the reasons why and my field test of the Sundridge Neoprene boots see http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/Tackle-And-Bai...rene_boots.html

By the way, they're avaivable in several colours, mine being green rather than the blue pictured in the review.

Not ultra cheapies necessarily, but I'd get in touch with www.fishingwaders.co.uk - they go up to 13 and do made to measure too for what seem to me to be very good prices. They're the British former waders department of Dunlop who started out on their own when Dunlop shut down over here and moved everything over to Portugal. If they make size 13 waders then I guess they can get hold of size 13 boots. They also sound like the sort of company who you could ring up and stand a better than average chance of getting to speak to someone who actually knows what they're talking about.

Not really got what Im after but must admit to being tempted by a "tailor made" set of chest waders for only £75! Sounds great value for a set of chesties that actually fit!

After looking at several sights now it seems that the type of boot which will have the widdest calf so accomodating my swollen leg will be one of the "half" boot cut.Once again Ive not found any in my price range (-£20) in size 13 any ideas?

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!
