Wow!!! She's a beauty, pride of the Weymouth fleet for sure. Its amazing how far charter boats have come over the last 5 or so years, start of a new generation.

John, did you have trouble with your lines going under the boat? The big downside of these bigger, taller boats is if your line goes under it then you can't simply point the rod underwater to keep your line from wearing on the hull.

Never heard any complaints from the guys fishing with Pat during the YYS. The new boat is about as wide as it's long so no real need to fish under the boat.

would agree with the bigman its not a problem with these big boats with walk round wheelhouses enough space to fish 12 down one side so no need for anyone to fish into the drift.

Hi Toerag like thebigman n chappers have said, Channel Chieftain V is that big you don't have to fish into the drift.

 

A great experience and I'm well chuffed for Pat, he's worked hard and deserves a boat like CC.V

Oh I understand about always being able to fish with your line away from the boat 'cos it's so damn big, I was just wondering what happens when you get a bass or tope charging round just under the hull?
