I have a scupper Neil! easy to get back on isn't it?! What is the bar fitted to the front? Looks ideal for fitting accessories, just the sort of thing I am looking for :) Is it home produced or shop bought (supplier? :) )

Nice video showing how it can be done :yeah:

The bar is fabricated from thick wall alloy tube. It's a DIY job. Brian has a TIG welder and makes trolleys, bars and rod rests etc for us skin flint Jocks. I am puting one on my P13 soon so I will take a few pics for you.

Nice video Neil, shows how it should be done nicely

On sit-inside kayaks, one of the ways to re-enter a boat is to go round to the bow or stern, grab either side of the boat and haul yourself back on that way. Stability is much better than trying to get on from the side...

That is exacty how Bic suggest you should get back on their kayaks, from the rear, horseback style!

It makes sense with a wide sit on.

Only possible if you don't have gear stacked up high in the tankwell or rods in flushmounts/rear holders. Same story for bow rentries - if there's gear in the way then it has to be a side re-entry. I try to keep my cockpit clear for this reason. If I mounted the yak from bow or stern I'd have to rearrange gear first.

I must go down to the sea again

To the lonely sea and sky

I left my shoes and socks there

I wonder if they're dry?
