I spent two months of my life lifting various frozen parts of animals 2cwt at a time into a hopper mixing dog food. Trouble was the animal parts were some of the most disgusting messes you have ever seen. The worst was something called chicken viscera, a grey sludge that stuck like s**t to a blanket and left this odour on you that never left. It was made from ground chicken bones and the bits even cheap nugget makers would never touch like glands. I remember once getting home from a 12 hour night shift so knackered that I dozed off in the chair without a shower and had to chuck it out the next day as it stunk so bad. I was going through a lean time financially so had to drive this old goosed van that didnt have a heater and the weather that year was so cold my windscreen froze solid from the inside. The day I quit I felt like I had been let out of Jail....happy days eh

Submariner - I once spent 63 days of my, then, young life underwater locked in a steel cigar whilst hooray henrys drove the frigging thing around at silly speeds and angles.

Summer job at the Sunlight Laundry, Brixton. Spent 3 solid weeks doing nothing but fold towels and sheets and stuff them into bags for the hotel trade. Been an expert sheet folder ever since.

Motorcycle courier in London on a knackered BSA 650 was no fun either, especially when I overshot Uxbridge late one night and ended up half way to Oxford before I realised my mistake.

Then there was quality control at the Pye records factory in Mitcham. 4 weeks of listening to the beginning and end of "Kung Foo Fighting", played overspeed, wore a bit thin after a while

Bleeding heart liberal pinko, with bacon on top.

Few jobs come to mind sorry to depress you

Telling a young woman that her 23 yr old fiancee had been killed in a motorcycle accident then watching her collapse and start to hyperventilate and fall apart, had to call for an ambulance for her. :(

And telling a family that their twin daughters + another had died in a RTA :(

( uninsured mini cab driver)

The curse of working in Traffic :(
